Hey there! I’m Hanna Mick! A school counselor, tech enthusiast, and National School Counselor of the Year finalist. I help students thrive, keep counselors ahead of the curve, and make professional development something you actually want to attend.

I started my career in advertising but found my true passion in education. Now, as Dean of Elementary Counselors and Counselor Leader Coordinator for the Kansas State Department of Education, I geek out over engagement strategies, AI, and project-based learning. I’ve presented at ASCA, delivered presentations nationwide, and even built an AI chatbot (Pickles the Chatbot) to help students practice social skills.

Because school counseling should be innovative, engaging, and future-ready, I launched Future Ready Counseling—a space where tech, creativity, and research-backed strategies shake up the status quo. The logo? A Goldendoodle, modeled after my dog, Pickles, because who doesn’t love a little fun with their learning?

When I’m not talking all things counseling, I’m playing fetch with my therapy dog Piper and Future Ready’s unofficial mascot, Pickles.
